Are you warning people about webcam hacking or are you advertising Y Cam Knight? Sounded to me more like the latter..

The technology is morally neutral...

Salutory lessons for us, alright.

However, like all technology, these tools are morally neutral and it's only how they're used by humans that make them "good" or "bad".

Personally, I think the latest web-cams are really fantastic and provide me with enormous peace of mind. I have one permanently pointed at water flowing out of holes in a pipe in a remote location, namely my wife's shellfish farm. She has a water re-circulation system that needs to run constantly. If the water stops flowing we have ~12 hours to fix it before animals start to die. No matter if it's the web-cam connection or broadband itself that's even more likely to die.

can it be true ?

I vista http://x17online.com/ from time to time when I need a good laugh and I am using Ubuntu 9.04 which I love but have noticed by camera light going off when I go to this page. What gives?
