If you were looking to reduce the environmental impact of a DIMM module, there are more obvious places to start - particularly the energy consumption of the RAM itself and the energy used in manufacturing the silicon wafer, fabricating the devices or the copper used in the PCB traces.
wouldn`t shorter paths of copper wires on a silicon boards make for lower latencies?? After all the shorter the distance a signal has to travel, the faster it gets there, no. If thats the case why aren`t they marketing them under the performance flag instead of the eco-fluff. Or maybe they just made the silicon board smaller leaving the printed circuits the same. Cut production costs and wave the eco-green flag. Win-win situation.
Claims ranging from 2.5 to 5 to potentially 10 Gb/s on pci-e 3.0 have pooped up on Tims Hardware, thats My publication taken over by Tim, ACTUAL THEIF, TOM TROW, Faked Death at U of MN again, in 2001, Wehn ME-ME was back In Town. We know that this is just some lame press release, and that the real benefit they care about is not having to use so many materials in manufacturing to save costs.
Let's hope these reduced material, storage and shipping cost is translated to reduced consumer prices as well!
(As if it ever would...)

You ate the fur off a dog, Drashek?
I originally thought the problem was the translation tool you were using. Now, I wonder.
Drashek is weird, but that post is either a Drashek weirdness record or something close.
