That's why...

"I love the way Apple not only charges for its service packs, but also brags about their low price. The Art of Deception!"

That's why they call it "Snow Leopard" rather than SP2 or whatever.

@JFDI

Yeah, I would love it if 1% or $1 of my purchase would go to some preservation fund.

Futhermore, is it cheaper to pre-order it now or can I get it for the same (or less) later after it's released when I get my paycheck?

Where's the EU on this....?

If Microsoft integrated optimizations for Exchange 2007 into their operating systems, would the EU bite their collective tongue? I bet they'd scream bloody murder all the way to the bank.

Reassuringly pretentious.

Just what you would expect from apple. But what exactly do they do to assist the preservation of endangered species? Apart from encouraging mindless pestering of the animals by hoards of amoral photographers I mean.

Ignorant Apparently

Snow leopards don't dwell in the arctic, they are indigenous to the mountains in central asia and are one of the predators of Pandas.

The OS for China

"Grand Central Dispatch (GCD) is a new addition to the OS which dynamically scales the workload of an application to take better advantage of multi core processors. An application which doesn't use GCD could grab 20 processor threads when it starts up or is at maximum capacity, but will continue to hog those threads even if it's sitting around twiddling its digital thumbs. GCD will steal those threads back and give them to more deserving applications or system processes, theoretically making the whole system faster and more responsive."

Sounds like communism to me. Perhaps the feds need to be paying Apple a visit...

Or perhaps this is really just an analogy to the new health care bill in Congress.

Snow Leopard Upgrade Costs

If you bought a Mac after (I think) June 8th this year, the upgrade will cost £7.95 in the Uk including shipping/handling costs.

I wonder what PC World and everyone else will do with existing stock of machines running Leopard come the end of the week?

INQ Poll

Authorities in several countries raided Megaupload recently, shut down all of its services, seized hundreds of servers and arrested several of its executives on criminal charges.

Do you think the move was justified?
