MCP 89/99....

Still Not much, yet 89 sounds less than hoped, yet NT6 has to start somewhere & its in affordable area.

MCP89 will be designed for Intel's LGA 775 processors, while the MCP99 will enable support for Intel's next-generation desktop CPUs. The former is designed with a DirectX 10-supporting graphics core and will offer support for Intel CPUs with an FSB of 1333MHz and DDR3-1333 memory. The latter, on the other hand, could have some issues entering production,

Already Are That Low

Ultee' Low One & so High, with new moncur':Jason. Inside of your computer is core running lower than ever, 133 Mhz/S seems starting point. Some can reach 5oo Mhz/s, with less multipliers. less is more reliable & less complex per operation, its just so fast when its simple.

Eniac with right tubes might be able to have speed drum change rate, as tubes use so darn much power, design your own, plenty of secondary, low powWow, excitors placed about.

200 Watts be Lots 'O Bells & whistles.
I'm Inventing Haze machine to find Ultee' thru blind boys eyes. Then Monitor could be turned OFF? 'tis that it, Ye Goatcatcher, Told You first, right here on:theINQ. PS Love those long link lists, theres always newbie zine listed. Real Hatchsun is in Semi.Bet Poor CM is worried now, Say my BedSprings are squeaking, Ultee', UKTEE!, What You Doing?

OMG, forget how high you can go

We've got plenty of super-powerful cpus that use up gobs of power. I think it's time to find out how LOW these cpus can go.

I want a cpu that goes down to about 100-300MHz whenever nothing is going on. How about a 200 watt beast that goes down to almost nothing when it has nothing to process? How about an 8-core that would have a cpu that's cool to the touch if the computer hasn't been used for much of anything for an hour or so?

That's what I want, that's what most of the frickin' world wants. What we DON'T want is something that uses 40+ watts just to maintain the OS environment.

I know it's coming, I'm just a little impatient for it to get here.

EXTRA,EXTRA:40 nm Failure Explained, MVP89/99 & 384 bit interface for 870....

After above, to see progress in action, think 6 core as 2 dual cores with one controller for each dual core lane, so in some circumastance spped goes above 4 Ghz/s today, 3 cores be 6 Ghz/s w/ hyperthread or more cores, bit more. Hooker is it NOT complete internal system, theres always weak spot & ubrer brings it out, at final total cost. yet basic point REMAINS & IS Speed Dictate.

Next: Remember all those good reviews of ATI 40 nm & Mikes article there ALL Flawed, won't do 3D & barely simplest of Games,Tested TRUE, heres reason::

AMD also adopts the strategy with the release of new graphics.RV740 has not be available due to RV740 electric leakage. So mature RV790 chip becomes a priority. In order to offset the disadvantages of HD4850,AMD releases HD4860 exclusive to Chinese
Going Down to Electric Leakage Ave?, Wanna get Pucked?

Next generation of chipsets that are "true" Ultimate here:

NVIDIA has released a blueprint for the next generation chipset products. It is expected NVIDIA will release Intel chipset MCP89 and MCP99 in the first quarter of 2010.AMD platform chipset will include MCP85.ION2 platform is scheduled for the end of 2009.

Ion being good starting point, same principle as Larrabee starting out on Phone & laptop only.Lets AMD get Ready.
Another upDate in Know Roadmap is 870 here:

RV870 core area will exceed 300 square millimeter. This is one reason that memory bit width is increased.

If 384-bit cooperates with 1.25GHz GDDR5, RV870 bandwidth can reach 240GB/s in theory, the twice of that of Radeon HD 4870.(which was Extreme LOSER)

However, the increase of memory bit width will lead to chip complication.TSMC 40nm process also clouds.

AMD will hold a pre-release on 10th,September,which will give confirmed information. As for price,it is expected to be available at $249-$399.

Previously 870 was announced as 256 bit width, yet, lets face it, 40 nm isn't MY thing baby, will be TSMC new name, soon enough.
Hot Stuff For HOT Weekend. Nvidia chipset mvp99 is Hotest, 59 was last xp only, 69, two years old, 79 todays top w also x58 bit upper. so 89 Good, yet 99. Oui, My Games There Coming Alive.

ahso, quick N.B. ibm 800 series is Main today(Powerseries6/7), with 11 series nestled in basement of Ultee', being invisible, yet testing thru out land, so if its 400? where'd DewDew got those crazy numbers in madeoff story,NO Offense, if its 400 its Too Old in design &sells for$100. Do Couch Potatos' actualy have mind of potato & too many eyes?Really reason for so many screwUps, such Imagination'd.Includes 40nm reviews with NO Part apparently, recently in late spring'9.

Speed is SIMPLY Eaplained....

Way back few years, commentos'd that max one asseemble/disassembly can reach is 2 Ghz/s & know since late 1940s' Its theoiry that is reproven in developement of X86. fromm 100 to 1000 Mhz/s Went along slow narrow path, as complexity ensued, new ideas had to be tested to get further: Thunderbirds & + on gussetimate speed came in, as machine was becoming more complex are given rate while speed itself was knocking its' glass ceiling. Only defying Graveity could help or two 2 ghz/sec threads. Slowly machine turned toward dual core. Now true operation max is about 4 ghz/s. it dosn't matter cores stated are over 4, its all dual core architecture, only Hyper & complexity of slowed Xmored cores gives impression that dual does more than 4 Ghz/s.

NOT UNTIL HASWELL IS OUT WILL MUTLI CORE BEGIN & "true" 4 Ghz/s to 8 Gh/s will be field. Its' Fine, Sunny Day for Computers, HASWELL will be icing on Cake.2012. Then think SSDPU.

Faster than 3.4 ghz

There are at least two CPUs on the market with higher clocks than 3.4 ghz.

Intel Dual-Core Xeon 7150N 3.5 GHz Processor

IBM Power6 CPU 4.7 ghz

Urmm...

Is it just me of have AMD started calling processors the same as Intel chipsets o.O

Next step is 6 cores.

"really. 3.4GHz on a 45nm quad-core architecture is pretty much as high as AMD will go right now, so... the question is, Watt now?"

Isn't that obvious? next year AMD's hign end desktop chip will have 6 cores.
