Not a chance in Hell that DULL will get away with using the sale date to the retailer for the Windoze 7 POS O/S upgrade. The state AG's will nail Mickey D's arse to the wall.
This is what happens when companies fold to the unwashed masses that want something for nothing. If you want a new computer with Win7 pre-installed, you have to wait until it comes out. You can't have the computer now and the OS later.
This isn't rocket science. This is right along the same lines with people complaining about iPhone price cuts, and Apple having to give them retroactively: you can't get the product when it comes out (at a price that you agreed upon in the act of buying it) and then complain later that you want it for less. You can't have it now AND later. The price premium for getting a a product when it comes out (or getting a particular computer configuration when it comes out) part of the agreement in buying something. Just because you have buyer's remorse doesn't mean the seller has to make concessions for you.
if you change the date of purchase to a later date does that extend the warranty of the pc to a couple more days? if so i wouldnt mind doin that... expet im nt a dell fan so i guess that would not apply to me.. but its just a thought.
They are the McDonald and Walmart junk of the computers industry. Apparently, their direct business model was not good enough, they needed to associate themselves with real stores with real peoples.
For a great DIY experience assembling your own PC, nothing beats the Neweggs on-line business of this world, but for the casual buyers, getting a whole machine from somebody not used to deal face to face with their customers is an other story.
Dell's communications and organization skills are so poor, they couldn't figure out that their own internal PO and delivery chaotic system with their new channel "friends" would affect their customers. They had to have complaints about it before waking-up.
There's is stupid, then there's Dell.
Do yourself a favor, buy from a company that actually prioritize their customers before some lousy internal paper work.

We have a problem!
