Waiting For The falling Chips...

The Sharp Aquos brand prices here in Canada were getting lower and we were poised to purchase one because of this, however with this new information we are going to review our stand on this choice.

I agree with Chris and Vondrashek/Pixie Creepy.

I noticed this from the tech industry, they are just wanting to KEEP some items above a 1,000 dollars from Computers and LCD Tv's. There are no reasons for this. It's unjustified, totally! Just thinking who would pay for an item the price above cheap city transportation [bus transit pass for a year]?!

Remember the Commodore 64? I do! As having it's price start at over $800.00 [Can] then just a few years later $199.00 [Can] [just for the computer].

Point is the Commodore 64 kept improving [on a standard] while the prices kept going down, not the case today, it's up down up down trying to fool the poor sap that comes along on the wrong price day! And it's always "Oh yes sir, you can do this with this machine, but that other machine..."

Short: "I am finished buying computers that are above $1,000.00

As for the LCD tv purchase, it's also up in the air since our Cable/TV industry is constantly spewing out metaphoric children crying when their ice cream fell on the ground scenarios plus the trashy programming content, not very appealing more appalling! An equivalence test of walking the dog! Honest, I leave it up to you to imagine the details.

Wow, thanks!

2800.00 for a 52" LCD? What a total rip. I have an awesome 56" LED based DLP tv from Samsung that rivals or betters any LCD TV out there that I got for 1500.00. Samsung and now Mits have discontinued DLP tv's siting their low-profitability and the fact that everyone wants a thin LCD. Most LCD owners don't even mount them on the wall. My Dlp is almost as thin as an lcd, but you can't mount it. So what! It's cheaper and looks just as good. Now their trying to tell us what a good deal 2800 hundred dollars is for a 52" tv. BOLLOCKS!

So whats the point then?

If it doesn't have local dimming who gives a toss whether it used LED's or kryptonite? The main point with the LED backlingting IS the local dimming!

This is just being done to confuse people.

local dimming

It's not just to create better contrast it also cuts the energy needed for the back-light in half. (for normal video)

Authorities in several countries raided Megaupload recently, shut down all of its services, seized hundreds of servers and arrested several of its executives on criminal charges.

Do you think the move was justified?
