Here is a site that has an abundance of links to reviews and articles which explain the release of 3G S and understanding of its design, features and performance. http://pfx.me/y5
This way users can get a full set of apps increasing the desirability of the device whilst Apple can say they did all they could to lock it down thus preventing lawsuits from concerned parents and copyright owners.
I wouldn't be surprised if Apple put this vulnerability in on purpose.
He did well, especially based on apples maximum operating temp of 35 degrees, the lads prob only been able to switch the phone on twice since he got it ;p
Just a clarification, ultrasn0w is the unlock app for 2g-3g phones made by the dev-team.
Redsn0w is their jailbreaking app. It does NOT support 3gs as Geohot beat them to the punch line with purplera1n.
Currently, ultrasn0w will work to unlock the new 3gs devices that have been jailbroken by Geohot's tool.
-**However upgrading to the beta 3.1 OS will prevent 3gs users from ever unlocking their phone with ultrasn0w due to the baseband chip being updated**-

Such funky named programs don't look to be very user-friendly, I guess they require some thinking to work. Given the average smartness level of someone who spends that amount of money on a small noisy thing that becomes obsolete in a few months, I wonder who the hell this piece of underground software is aimed for.
The iPhone 3.0 SOFTWARE on the iPhone 3G and iPhone (notice the lack of the 'S') were accomplished on the day after it came out (if not before) The 3GS (notice the 'S') has just been jailbroken.
This has already been accomplished by the iPhone Dev Team. The program is called ultrasn0w. They released it the day after the new iPhone and 3.0 firmware came out
