Hello from an IBM Blogger!
Personally, I don't blog in a suit when I write my IBM blog and I find the guidelines very reasonable.

Zippy Context...

I live with my mother.
All of my shirts are neatly ironed.
I'd never consider sleeping with my hands under the duvet.
When I wish to mark the passage of time I eat a Big Mac (with a knife and fork and serviette), so that I may track the output of sesame seeds and know that it was good.
The government is the elected representative body for the people of the nation and, as such, their moral, ethical and legal authority must not be challenged for the duration.
I aspire to work for IBM, even though my own inadequacy with the official examinations at school and college means that I will never be qualified.
I still wear the suit, to honour those who went before me.

Factual corrections

1 - The 'rules' were created over 2 years ago..this is very old news...
2 - The 'rules' were created by the employees..HR just made them corporate wide
3 - Almost no one in IBM dresses in suits...

Inhumane Resources

Obviously, these are "rules" to be used to fire employees who don't guzzle the corporate Kool-Aid.

After all, the whole point of "human resources" is to ensure that employees recognize their role as subservient serfs to corporate "executives".

Do you think the move was justified?
