You all fail

"Tweeker" means someone hooked on meth. Totally different word.

Get it right about Tweaking

Come on people. My old DFI Lanparty UT says on the box "UV on, Tweak fun!!" Tweaking is Overclocking. Drop the Meth & CPU comparison, you all sound silly. I hardly post up comments, but this is as stupid as the "Congo" uproar.

Jean is so close

But so wrong. A tweaker is, traditionally, someone who is addicted to methamphetamines. SPEED. It's so marketable, they just marketed it!

TWEAKER means

a drug addict, that's why TWEAKER isn't "marketable".

Thanks @Slow on the draw

I didn't know where Charlie moved to... good bit of info there.

Keep up the good work Sylvie - you're the new main reason I read this site.

News article vs Forum post

I have to agree with Gremlin that a forum post which was smacked down by the Charlinator himself as "fake" hardly counts, @Slow on the draw.

I mean, if this had appeared as an article on Charlie's site, then I'd agree. But Charlie, as a journalist, should have been intrigued by the post and checked up on it, which obviously Sylvie did. Charlie still hasn't written anything about it on his site, and still hasn't gone back on his original statement that it is a fake.

That is what makes Sylvie's piece "news" and the stuff on Charlie's forum random speculation with no solid information except for 3 pictures.

Sylvie gave specs and confirmed information with sources. That adds value for me. If I believed everything I read in forums, I'd not be a very smart guy!
Not to take away from forum value, but not everyone reads forums and it just isn't news until it has some sort of lease on credibility. That's just what I think.
Thanks for confirming it sylvie and i really enjoy your news so keep up the good work!

Ad hominem

Grem:

Personal insults add nothing to the quality of communication.

why TWKR instead of TWEAKER

My bet is that it won't fit in the CPUID registers if they include the vowels. That's why GenuineIntel was used instead of Genuine Intel(r)(tm)(c) etc etc etc.

@ Slow on the draw

Really, charlie was slow on the draw himself, and shy on details at least Syl has actually given us a little more detail

Besides Charlie the douche flat out said the chips were not real and that the pictures were all fake, if you don't believe me go look in his forum, the guy from Maingear PC actually joined up to the forum to post in the thread and prove him wrong

So really before praising him for his tremendous work, go check out him being proven wrong first

Really?

I first heard about these in Charlie's forums at semiaccurate.com sometime last week.

Do you think the move was justified?
