I think Nick generates more smugness than all the companies mentioned above. The more fanboys (microsoft, apple or linux) that reply to his crap the more smugness he generates I think... :)

BTW, I use Microsofts OS for Games, Mac OS for real work, and Linux or BSD for when I feel a geek wave coming on, and finally AmigaOS/NextStep/OS2 for pure nostalgia and what could have been... :D

microsoft obviously did some things right to be where they are now...

i used a mac for 3 years, starting with tiger (which was what started this whole "macz rool!" thing)... and then I moved back to windows... simply because it's better than mac...

and as for the whole nerdy side of things, well has anyone tried coding a windows app or web application using VS2008? it's like childs play... microsoft have made it easy and enjoyable...

Stop crying about it and get back to using Linux or Mac you cry baby.

I for one don't mind Windows, since xp was released it's been stable enough. Win95 / 98 blue screen ctrl alt del battles were so much fun tho. haha.

And pre-emptively Apple Mac is baloney, until Apple bites the bullet and allows installation of their software on random hardware they will fail.

Linux will continue to fail until it becomes more user friendly AND when it doesn't have 100000000+ different packages to choose from. The amount of different packages linux has does nothing but confuse the end user (computer illiterates). And ffs if i want to install drivers for something i shouldn't have to type command lines or edit files to allow installation on my specific build of linux. Microsoft figured this out what 2 decades ago?
