@I know

They've planted a retroreflector there. And that's the biggest proof that they've been there. You can test it by sending a powerful enough laser beam. There will always be people who will suggest radical things so that they can be in the news. And with the Internet, suggestion is all it takes. No one really bothers about the proof. Within a few hours it's in hundreds of blogs and sites and you can't help but think that if so many people say it, there must be some truth to it.

LRO Shall reveal all...

Well, bitches... the LRO launch seems finally on for 6/17. Google that. We'll see what truth (or newly doctored government lies) result fromt hem high-rez snaps of Tranquility Bay and that expensive jeep!

More details

The Pennet report says they will measure the transfer rate in Kbps and mbps, the distance in miles (also in nautical miles), yards, feet, inches and mils, angles are measured in mils, too, mass and weight are measured in stones, pooounds and ooounces (lbs for liquid bs), and energy consumption is measured in British teapot units. Experts from the Roman Empire's Lockhell Martin, who were already successful in shortening the orbit of a NASA mars probe, are going to join the project as consultants.

@Chromatix

NASA is more concerned with reliability than performance and cutting edge tech. It is common for them to use "older" technology because it is a known quantity.

The flag didn't float lol

The moon flag is 'stiff' so it sticks straight out, even on earth it would not hang down like a regular flag on a still day. A regular flag on the moon would always hang straight down with no wind to blow it. The flag and flagpole wabbled (out-of-this-world wide wibbled?) for a bit after it was set up.

Wind on the moon?

Um...the moon flag waving in the wind was actually the flag floating in low gravity.

Only IPv4?

For a literally space-age system that's supposed to be future-proof for the next 20 years, I think it's remarkably short-sighted of them to not use IPv6.

A funny thing happended on the way to the moon

Well I guess after 40 years of lies they have to go see what the moon is actually like. And only because the Chinese are going there to see if the US flag is still waiving in the (space) wind.

Didn't mention the OS, but I do hope they don't use Vista.

BTW see the movie (title at top) and see what a con the lunar ... er .. lunacy is.

INQ Poll

Authorities in several countries raided Megaupload recently, shut down all of its services, seized hundreds of servers and arrested several of its executives on criminal charges.

Do you think the move was justified?
