I would agree with dogg 2 years ago , but given that the most damaging ( financially and data ) virus' are now Internet orientated, no Internet connection= limited threat. It would be interesting to known what the virus infection was?
The problem with this is if the Internet connection gets cut off even for a fraction of a second and a virus is trying to get in from a USB drive or something... you have no chance.
This is another nail in the coffin for the push method of virus signatures, solutions like cloud based AV's where the PC is kept constantly up to date with threat information is certainly the way forward, especially products like Panda cloud and the super quick Prevx. I dont think this event should put too much blame on the victims - just the security industry.
