"How much for 20 desktops?", "That's not how we work sir.... sir...sir, I think he hung up."

"The partnership won't charge customers on a per machine basis, but instead on a per site basis, with different plans tailored for small, medium and large businesses.

The services Gateway and Level Platforms plan to offer will include remote monitoring, servicing, asset management and automatic patching of updates."

I can see it now, my boss says to order 20 desktops and get a price from a few suppliers. I try Gateway, who's website is as useless as Acer's, and I can't get a straight answer.

So I phone gateway looking for a price on 20 standard desktops, give him my spec, and he comes back at me with a load of tosh. Asking my how many sites, are we a small, medium or large business. Are we interested in remote managing, servicing, asset management, auto-atching of updates, etc etc.

I hang up and get a quote from Dell and somewhere else and buy from one of those.

I'm guessing it's not me they are aiming at ;-)
