@Borland user - Borland split the Delphi/C++ development tools business off into a separate company called Codegear a while ago. Codegear was then bought by Embarcadero in May 2008. Todays Borland sells Application Lifecycle Management tools
Free pascal compiler and lazarus aren't too bad in Linux, although the installing of components seems to be a complete pain in the arse... Lack of meaningful documentation seems to be the biggest problem.

Maybe the Microsoft payoff to kill Kylix will become void if Borland is bought? A good development tool for Linux would be a relief.
