The article doesn't say Linux is UNIX. I don't know where you got that from, unless you misinterpreted the title ("conversion" here means "from Unix" not "to Unix" in this case, as is clear if you read the actual article again.)

Linux is a "Unix-like" system. It doesn't contain any code from any real Unixes such as BSD, and it isn't Single UNIX Specification certified.
