Until Chrome came along, Google's Master Mobile Plan didn't quite add up. Now it does. Chrome -- Google's new superbrowser -- is cream on the top of a new mobile software stack. Let's call it a href="http://www.linuxjournal.com/content/gacl" GACL /a , for Gears, Android and Chrome on Linux.

Move everyone to GMail

So what does Google exactly hope to achieve from a free platform?

If everyone is using Android, everyone will have to use GMail because it's the only non-borked email service. Previous comments on android 1.5 article.

P.S. People above, get with the program. Gurgle have made an open sauce operating system called paranoid android. Daym.

Your question can only be answered if you look at the open source development model, and the consequential effects it has.
