I'm glad AMD spun-off their NOR flash division to create Spansion, as they did it at just the right time. NOR flash sales kept the company going for years, but they saw the end coming for the NOR train.
Of course, now the company doesn't make ANY profit...guess they can't win no matter how they play it.
The one thing I'm curious about: four years back, Intel saw the times changing and went balls-to-the-walls, upgrading their NOR flash fabs to NAND. Why the hell didn't Spansion do the same?
