This is the thing that everyone will want in their car. It will make some people want to buy a new car.

DVD players, tv, gps, and all on 3-4 screens at the same time.

Rear parking camera, cool.

GPS, cool.

TV - listening without seeing is actually ok while driving.

DVDs or TV for the passengers, cool. If you've ever had kids in the back of your car watching a pair of dvd headrests then you'll know that kids can be silent for hours in the back of a car. It's a safety improvement because the distraction to the driver is reduced by at lesat 75%!

This is the one that will help save the car industry, unless they sit on their fat asses and take 4 years to implement it.

Every family car should come with this as a £1000-£2000 upgrade, including 3-4 screens, remote control and dvd player.

Oh yeah, it also needs the obligatory bluetooth, mobile phone, mp3 player connections, plus a 3g/sim slot, usb upgrade port, and that's about it.

Make it a standard size and retrofittable to existing cars for the aftermarket upgraders too. No reason why the header unit couldn't fit in the same space as a cd player.

and when you have to in appear in court to testify that you're the one who grassed on your neighbor, you can join the ranks of all the other nib-shit old women in the world that worry about other people's business.

Perhaps Fujitsu could include a little silver whistle with the kit to complete your "hall monitor of the highways" fantasy. Little Brother is watching!

what would be really nice is if a system could be developed whereby drivers with such a system install in their vehicle could use the cameras to relay images from the road to the police ( by pressing a button installed on the steering wheel for example)of people commiting traffic offences... such as:
driving with fog lights on when not needed...(I see this at least 10-15 times every time I travel at night)
driving vehicle with headlights not functioning correctly...(I see this in about 1 in 20-25 cars)
undertaking...
jumping traffic lights....
general dangerous driving, especially on motorways...
after people started copping £80 fixed penalties for these "seemingly minor offences" the general public might actually book their ideas up and make their cars more roadworthy, thus helping to kickstart the economy in some small way and make the raods better for all concerned.
it is a good use of technology and I would really like to see an advancement in this area. I am not talking about a system where the police could monitor everything from all vehicles at all times, though I'm sure the paranoid / wrongdoers will see it as that.....
