I've never owned a cell phone but this is pretty interesting. Any phone that ships with Linux is an instant classic. People will be tweaking that software for decades to come. Contrast that with the predictable end of life support you get with a proprietary operating system. If it's my hardware why do I feel like it's on a lease?
I wouldn't be afraid to do a fresh install on a Linux phone. Windows probably wants an DNA sample for that.
