"push"

Google Sync is not "push" in the same way Blackberries are. Blackberry's "push" means it tells me I have new email before the Gmail window open in my desktop browser does. Google Sync, while an absolutely wonderful piece of software that updates BB's calendar with Google Calendar info (and vice versa), does not manage to be nearly as instant.

After the recent Obama Blackberry fiasco, should Inq just stop writing about Blackberries until they get someone who actually understands what they do?

Do you think the move was justified?
