...even if they're on the side of the little guy this time, that's only once compared to all the times they've been against us.
Taking vital business equipment that is plugged in and operating is illegal, and no matter how much you hate Newnham or believe that you have the right to park like a complete cunt whereever you want to, you don't want to go agreeing with the idea that bailiffs can come round and seize the tools of our trades from US, right out of our hands while we're using them.
So don't get too smug, you'll be laughing on the other side of your face when it happens to you.
"-- what a crock of shite. The council thinks it can just turn up in court whenever it pleases, and the courts are just proving them right"
You do realise the council has recovered money which can now go on services for the community? People should be happy that their tax money has been recovered. I find it strange to hear people getting so upset when Joe Selfish is finally forced to pay his dues. The public sector may not be the most efficient workforce in the country (to put it mildly), but they are there for the benefit of society as a whole.
"Are Inq articles actually ever proof-read for hilariously dumb errors by anyone?" Nah, why spoil the fun. Anyway, at the end of each week the person who can correctly spot all of Nick Farrell's typos for that week wins a prize (probably a year's subscription to the Grauniad).
I'd really like to know why the first court ruled in Mr Noon's favour and why the Council won on appeal. What was the basis for the damages claim? Shame the Bailiffs took the money -- at least disconnecting the server would have been a Pyrrhic victory.
"It it took the case back to Bow County Court, which ruled in its favour and ordered Mr Noon to repay the money." -- what a crock of shite. The council thinks it can just turn up in court whenever it pleases, and the courts are just proving them right.
[PS: Are Inq articles actually ever proof-read for hilariously dumb errors by anyone? I get the Inq style of writing, but this is just getting stupid. It really makes you look like a bunch of amateurs. I guess requesting that you run articles through a spell-checker as well as checking for obvious mistakes would be too much to ask.]

I live in Newham and shame on the council for allowing so much money to be wasted on this case!
Newham council is now a laughing stock and I hope the appropriate heads roll.
