Ok the screen can not do HD but some of these netbooks can output to bigger screens. My partener's nc10 sees regular duty as a media box for the 40 inch hd set.
(At which it does a good job at but its not true hd).that seems to be a valid reason to do it right there.

The point?

What's the point of this? A ten inch screen doesn't need high definition films.

You can already decode Hi Def on the Atom

You can already decode Hi Def on the Atom; you just need the right decoders (ffdshow).

Screen resolution

As great as it is having a hi-def ready netbook, are they still going to be limitied to the non-hd resolution screens?

Okay, I don't expect them to ever have 1080p screens, but they could at least have 720p.

Asus already has a product with hi def and atom processor, the EEE Box B204 and B206, strangely there are none available yet...
