Scan and Overclockers appear to have lowered prices on a number of the products that have decreased. The e5200 has is under £60 on those two sites (<£50 excl VAT).
The Q9650 has also taken drastic cuts to put it under £300.
i think intel are merely putting the squeeze on AMD's phenom 2. phenom 2 seems to be selling at a premium, because it isnt particularly competitive as i first thought it would be. for example the 2.8ghz 920 goes for about 190 pounds, but i have seen the 2.83ghz Q9550 for 200 pounds, and the intel is considerably faster. with this price drop of the Q9650, intel are probably moving on top of the 3ghz 940 BE, which i have seen going for about 230 pounds. if intel can get the 3ghz Q9650 down to about 240, then thats the phenom 2 pushed out of contention again as the intel is again considerably faster.
Most SKU's don't get an official price change thou Intel may provide additional marketing dollars to discount.
Can they stop making so many CPU's with similar prices. They could cut the number in half and no one would notice.
Some UK Retailers already have.

In reality, UK retailers will not cut their prices to reflect the Intel price cuts.
We will continue to pay £70 for a $64 dollar chip (e5200), and it will be explained away as the cost of doing business in the UK.
