You're absolutely right Nick... the U.S. press almost 100% of the time just tries very hard not to upset anyones sensibilities. They are very timid. Look at the Iraq war as another example. Not one word from them about the tens of thousands of innocent Iraqi CIVILIANS (women and children) killed in the war. There are tons of other examples but you get my point. The U.S. press in general is very wimpy and won't challenge or investigate what someone else says if they think it will offend their sponsors or a majority of American people.
Because a Royal Court TM inside-straight flush is required just to call a spade a shuffle. But Apple are Non-standard bug and jokers, and I don't know Jacks or better. I suspect Nicks holding an Apple all along.
I mean jeez, did Steve Jobs fly over in his Gulfstream, and personally rape and murder your entire family or something? Always with the slagging.. It's gone far beyond legitimate snark, man...
I'm getting tired of wading through pages and pages of crap about how much Apple doesn't matter. Yes, the media is full of unecessary coverage of Apple ... starting right here!
If it doesn't matter, it doesn't matter. And even if it does matter, does it matter, that it matters?
This is just another example how facts no longer matter to much of the US media but instead they report what they want to believe rather than what is fact. The media's use of propaganda and targeted hatchet-jobs for/against certain politicians this past election season further showed how little integrity remains in our press.
First they destroyed Hillary Clinton's candidacy by refusing to give her much positive coverage while fully highlighting her mistakes. At the same time they were fawning all of their positive attention on the Obama candidacy and muting any gaffes made by his campaign. This of course smacked of serious sexism and put many Americans on edge already with charges of sexism in the media.
But it didn't end there. Next up was when Gov. Palin became the Repub nominee for VP where they immediately started questioning why she is running for VP and suggesting that she should be staying home and taking care of her children. Apparently as "progressive" as they like to consider themselves, there apparently remains a deep-rooted part of those in the press that believes the only place for women is at home, barefoot and pregnant. Certainly not running our government. Their treatment of Palin fully seared into the minds of most women that the mainstream press was dead-set against a woman being elected to such high office. They actively sought to discredit and destroy the female candidates in BOTH parties. A decision they have since been paying for by record losses of newspaper and magazine subscribers of some of the worst offenders.
It's been a very disappointing past year and they are paying dearly for it. Several of the largest news organizations that were most lacking journalistic integrity are now financially bankrupt or very near it after losing subscribers in droves over their atrocious bias this past year.
So, given all of that, does a little fawning over the Almighty Steve Jobs really surprise anyone? Does it surprise you they will ignore fact and instead regurgitate that which they are told by their idols? Particularly from CNBC? A "news" network that while "reporting" the news the past year was also at the same time producing an Obama propaganda DVD.
