Why do people who use filthy language think it is their right to speak that way in public places? Don't even adult men as well as women and children have the right to be out is public and not have to listen to all that foul mouth profanity? Any legislator can introduce a bill proposing anything. This bill, like most, is highly unlikely to ever see the light of day.

The legislator in question, State Senator Ford, is a Democrat from Charleston, not some rural area. He has also proposed dozens of bills this session, including one regarding the wearing of pants that "hang more than 3 inches below the hips."

Senator Ford also happens to be an African-American Democrat, which, as recent news indicates, makes any criticism of him immediately suspect of being racially biased. So, be careful. If you ridicule the bill, you're by extension casting aspersions on Sen. Ford, and that may just indicate your inherent racism.

In at lease one American state it is a misdemeanor to use profanity in front of women and children. Although rarely enforced, someone lost a couple thousand dollars years ago because they fought the so called "Profanity ticket", and hired a lawyer.

There are many words that are frowned upon in most circles besides "profanity". Think of the racist words like, Nigger, Spik, Guke, Chink, etc. These words should be stricken from everday speach regardless of the "Freedom of Speach" right. Someone who uses those words and other similar ones is just like if they were talking to you and a rotten stinking fish came flying out of their mouth and landed in front of you. Many think of profanity in the same way.

Has anyone ever met a politician? More importantly, met one off camera? They are just as foul mouthed as the rest of us. I was once refuse the conclusion of an interview with an American Consul General. She asked me if I had accepted Jesus into my heart.
