Pancreatectomy

Mr. Jobs apparently requires a total pancreatectomy, or complete removal of the pancreas. The most likely reason for this is due to pancreatic cancer, although there are other potential (but less likely) causes. This is very serious surgery, with frequent complications, but many people who undergo total pancreatectomies live for a number of years afterward, albeit as diabetics.

Good luck to him.

Even if I do think his product's are over rated and over priced, I hope he gets better soon.

Hope he beats the odds

Pancreatic cancer has (on average) a 95% 5-year mortality rate, from diagnosis.

He was diagnosed and treated in 2004.

I hope he is one of the lucky ones.
