UPS Theft

I had this happen to me except someone opened the original shipping box and removed the item, cut the label off and tapped it to a new box. When the buyer receved his package the item was missing and in a different box. He snt me pictures and you can see the cardboard still attached to the label.

History ?

A very brief Google Search gives details of the arrest of another 21-year-old
"Eric Alexander McComas" who was caught red-handed and arrested for stealing three Motor Vehicles in May 2008 - in the same town.

I suppose it is just possible that there are two different 21 year olds with that name in Collier County. But I think it perhaps more likely that the guy has form.

One has to question how much care UPS take when hiring.

This type of thing happens year 'round. UPS insures your shipments and has a vigilant anti-theft policy. Nothing new here.

Scott, "didn't care to finish his route" - did you say it was Dec 26? Gee, I wonder if he maybe had some extra volume due to some kind of holiday around that time...

This Is Not News

This is old news if anything. I have had items go "missing" after handing over to UPS. UPS Drivers are either not trained very well, or don't care to do their job. Just yesterday a package that was supposedly attempted delivery 12/26, but not left because no one could sign for it, was left at my door 12/30 without a signature. It would seem the driver didn't care to finish his route, as I was home all day 12/26 for the holidays. When shipping, I use Fed-Ex exclusively, sad more companies don't give you an option.

Lots of people stealing now.

I had this happen to me as well. I contact UPS and they blame the retailer, I contact the retailer and they blame UPS. In the end, I am the one that has to lose hundreds of dollars.

Check out http://rumorfeed.blogspot.com/ for their story on how newegg uses the same strategy to rip people off as well.

Wait there for the agent and don't sign for the item UNLESS it has exactly what you ordered.

Authorities in several countries raided Megaupload recently, shut down all of its services, seized hundreds of servers and arrested several of its executives on criminal charges.

Do you think the move was justified?
