World is changing for the good

Roger Ramjet, well said.

Let's hope there is more people like Ken Starks, do the same thing.

Ubberlaird

He said sorry because he's a businessman.
You never want to be seen as vindictive or emotional in such situations. What he did will be viewed as "unprofessional" or even juvenile by potential or existing clients. As an adult, you are not supposed to react. You are not expected to publically shame people.

Never mind that she deserved it. Heh.

sorry

He said he was sorry because she called him on the phone crying. Linux users are not accustomed to crying so it tends to effect them more than Windows users.

He said he was sorry ...

... because he is a human being, not a robot. He took his share of responsibility and said sorry. He showed a good example. Let's see if others do the same.

Dave.M is a retard

Some of us have the mental capacity to learn other operating systems IN ADDITION to windows.

I think it is important that windows is primarily taught but it shouldn't be the only OS taught you RETART.

If every single person was to ONLY learn windows then that will be the only OS for the rest of our future.

There is nothing wrong with learning Linux AS WELL dick knuckle.

I should start handing out some BSD,Solaris blah blah discs as well.

Go back to your Microsoft centric only world you toss

Actually, he didn't throw her to the wolves

Ken was careful to not identify the teacher. Even after a posting on Slashdot, no one has found her, as she admitted to Ken. She is not getting hate mail. She only learned about his posting because Ken emailed her.

Hang the retard.

Most of the world is windows, for better or worse. So how is allowing the use of Linux in a school that teaches Windows actually going to help these kids?

She should be commended for trying to keep them on one topic, not thrown to the wolves as this fanboi retard Linux pusher has done.

The fact that she's getting hate mail and the like from the twats just goes to show the maturity level of those idiots.

Makes my blood boil....

Honestly, the teacher should apologize

The teacher should be apologizing. If you're a teacher, and you don't know about something, you shouldn't just make things up.

Does she have a licensed copy?

If one of her students show up with copies of Windows for free, that would be ok then. Paid software is not evil, even when you don't pay for it.

I still can't understand why he said sorry

The teacher needs to apologize.

Do you think the move was justified?
