Still no sight of AM3 processors nor any real AM3 mobos. With only 2 months away from release, I'm going to see some real delays in releasing actual hardware.
On the other news here http://www.anandtech.com/weblog/showpost.aspx?i=532 a 2 socket Nehalem trounces 4 socket quad core Opterons and even spanking the new 2 socket Shanghais back into the stone age.
I have been waiting patiently for an M3A-H/HDMI BIOS that will boot my 3.0 GHz AM3 processor. It just sits on the shelf waiting for a BIOS. 12-16-2008 today and no BIOS update available.
oh poo. so none of the first AM2+ boards will work. . . my dual core barcalona pisses all over phenomI chips in an M3A32 mobo so I have been waiting for the 45nm chips. only a meagre selsction of 45nm AM2+ available which will quickly go the way of the 'worth their weight in gold' 939 dual cores.
Not Much Ultimate Action on X series of Intel till X58. Now 64 Bit Falling In Place Too. With AM3, it Too is That Step UP. Quality. Bulldozer, If Little Yellow CAT Didn't Claw it to Death, Is Pinacle of series Starting with X2 Athlon. Its Hard To Describe Difference of Single Vs. This will make it really confusing when the real AM3 board are released.
Why can't they just keep calling it AM2+

Would it be so difficult to make clear that AM3 CPU's fit in a AM2+ socket.
