Sir

The article is barely coherent and obviously is written to suit an agenda.
The actual WSJ article is clearer.

Apple sales are down 1% on last year. PC sales are up 2%. Given Apple have not heavily discounted their products, and PC retailers have, this is no surprise.

Apple desktop sales are down 35%. Given that their desktop line is badly in need of a refresh this is not surprising either. The misprint about desktops above hides the fact that Apple laptop sales are up 22%.

This article has all the neutrality of Faux News. A silly partisan piece by an obvious Apple hater.

You want proof reading?

You expect the crystal-bothering gitwizard to preef-rood his spurts? It's enough that he does a half-assed cut and waste from elsewhere and obscure any factual content 'neath laddish drooling.

You can't expect an standards of reporting, writing or anything else, he has to go and find another news story elsewhere and produce a leering precis in broken English.

Next you'll be saying that Emma Hughes shouldn't recycle BBC news more or less worth for word.

You ungrateful lot, it's nearly christmas, you know!

Who's laughing?

From thw WSJ artical "Mr. Munster said since last December, the average Windows PC price is down 35% to 45%; in contrast, Apple has offered only modest discounts of 5% to 10% on its PCs, analysts said."
So Windows PC manufacturers have to eat 35-45% discounts to sell 2% more kit while Apple discounts by 5-10% in competition and sales go down by only 1%. Who's making more money here? It might be bad news for some of the smaller PC companies, but it's not the impending sign of Apple's demise that Nick would like.

Apple trolls come marching.

I have to say, mac users are the most arrogant, ignorant, and blind group of forum posters I have ever seen. They out-troll Linux, Unix, MS, and Sony fanboys by a mile. I guess you have to be that smug and arrogant when you spen $1500.00 USD on a computer you could have gotten from Dell for half that price. Trolls. Go be trolls somewhere else.

GASP

A drop in sales of Apple Computers? GASP!!! Shocking isn't it. I reckon there aren't as many job snobs out there in this economy. Jobs ignores reality on a regular basis because he has his own alternate reality. Time will tell if the small percentage of elitists who buy Apple products will be buying any time soon.

$500 computer that's not a piece of junk

"He has also ignored the low-margin netbook market claiming that he didn't know how to make a $500 computer that's not a piece of junk."

Nope, he just knows how to make computers over $1500 that are pieces of junk, but still the Mactards are buying the damn things.

Um guys?

Um guys, will you please get your heads out of the clouds? There is nothing wrong with that sentence. If you would take some time to *read* and *comprehend* it, you'd understand that it is saying that: sales are lower than normal (35%), but despite that, Apple is still doing well as far as desktop sales are concerned. It could have done *worse* in fact, but since Apple did relatively well, it only suffered a 35% drop. Do you Mac zealots need to be spoon fed or something?

INQ - Are you ever going to stop the Farrell propaganda

Hey, another negative Apple article from Nick the quick.... I'm stunned! Can you at least PROOFREAD THE ARTICLES:

"NPD analyst Steve Baker pointed out that there had been a 35 per cent drop in sales of desktop Macs although the outfit still did quite well in desktops, which bolstered the figures a bit"

So they dropped in desktops but did quite well in desktops? Is one of these supposed to be notebooks, maybe?

"But then it never comments on anything, particularly if it is bad"

English...good...grunt... if they NEVER COMMENT ON ANYTHING, how can they PARTICULARLY not comment when it is bad - this sentence makes no sense whatsoever! I guess you could also say they don't comment particularly if it is good or particularly if it is neutral? Never is never!

Go somewhere else ??

@SkateNY

Go somewhere else to complain !?

If you are 'tired of reading this shit', then how about you F* off and get all chummy with your Apple buddies on an Apple supporters site somewhere.

I sure as shit don't give a flying F* what YOU think either.

The same thing, over and over again

And next thing we'll read is how Apple beat forecasts, estimates, and recipes. Tired of this shit. I'm an Apple software developer, and the iPhone saved me with their App Store. I don't really care who loves the Blackberry, Windows Mobile, or Android. Apple helped give me and my family's life back, and in very short order. You don't like Apple? You don't like the iPhone? Go somewhere else to complain. We're doing just fine here.

"NPD analyst Steve Baker pointed out that there had been a 35 per cent drop in sales of desktop Macs although the outfit still did quite well in desktops, which bolstered the figures a bit."

So altough their desktop sales dropped 35% they still managed to do quite well in that particular segment..... Is
