AMD said the whispers were "rumor and speclation"... well of course they are, as AMD has not publicly stated anything about it.
But did they say that it was NOT TRUE?
"But according to AMD, it's lies, all lies. Or at least all unsubstantiated conjecture." Again, of course its unsubstantiated (which is why you went to AMD for comment). DID THEY ACTUALLY DENY THIS OR ARE YOU MISREADING AMD's carefully worded response? I think there may be something to this "rumor", at least the exploration of the idea and AMD may be afraid of the PR aspect of it after the handout they just got in NY,
Since Chip Machine is Huge iron behemouth, with small opeing that has standard curtain timer, maybe only difference between higher NM chip & smaller, is simply size of hole in camera face that lets shrunken light thru, with new lens board setting.
Too big would allow stray light to blurr image & of course too small would cut off image if used small NM for larger size.
No big Hockie, just reset lens board to shrink image(Although probably Not Movable is incorporated in todays machines) & smaller hole to let image thru. PatPend,TM Ultee'Tom
