Ironic.

"I just wanna point out how retarted all the people pointing out "cya" being wrong are. Good Game Noobs! "

The correct spelling is "retarded" with two D's. Takes one to know one, huh?

404

Yes 404 is also known to our friends as a polite way of telling someone to F**k Off. I love 404, it says it all.

I dunno...

I think I might be on the wrong side of the pond here, some of those words I have never heard of. Good article though, and yes its true there is way too many slang coming up. I think its fine just as long as you use them where they are meant to be used. For example I do txt people with abbreviated words and slang but I don't go around saying "LOL" out loud.

You should add omw = On My Way. I had to teach that to my boss who kept texting me to go to his office =P.

CYA does sound like "see ya".

404

NO!

404 is the internets way of telling you to F**k Off.

The common use of 404 as far as I and my colleagues are concerned is F**k Off.

Mr

several things wrong in my eyes, and a hell of a lot missing:
GOOD Job - ummm, means good job last i checked!
CYA (yeah i know i'm not the first to point it out) - see ya
COS - Because
ROFL - Roll on floor Laughing (yeah they got it right i just got to start with it)
LMAO - Laughing my arse off
ROFLMAO - rolling on floor laughing my arse off
ROFLMAOBBQ - BBQ added to previous because it was already an absurdly long acronym.
The list goes on!

feeling old

I would use very few of these shortcuts in a text message. Even then I may only use them in a hurry and they would be the ones mentioned in the first two comment's . I've never known any one use the terms in the article. What's an Oyster card and why would I use one to know and understand code 11 or 35 etc? Do I take it they're something used outside the UK?

COS

For a start CYA means "Good Bye" as in "See Yah"
and
COS means "Because" sometimes wrote as "Coz"

CYA?

Doesn't CYA actually come from sounding like See you... and then See ya?

Do you think the move was justified?
