Sony Supporting FOSS

I have trouble believing that. I wouldn't trust Sony any further than I could throw them. They have a closed-standard answer to everything, and they're often the first to push DRM too far, or to push proprietary formats (such as atrac3, minidisc, UMD etc.). Sure, they've all failed.

Android allows proprietary development in the licence, so I'm very worried that Sony will branch it to the extent that it's their own proprietary platform.

All other manufacturers I'd welcome on board.
