I didn't realize that IPTV Iowa Public Television was so powerful!

The age of copper has really gone. If every town, city and county have a WiMax antenna and everything runs on digital then no body should need wires. You can get broadband TV, radio, internet where ever you go.

Lame article. Telco bashing still hasn't lost its appeal huh Emma ? The fact is "landlines" are not going anywhere and time soon. Technically Fiber is a landline..so is an HFC network...are you suggesting Fiber Optics and HFC is dying...lol. Wireless remains a limited technology that lend convenience to someone on the go but lacks everything needed to ever replace landlines... stop with the BS articles written by someone who obviously doesn't work in the Telecom sector....maybe your fabulous imagination skillz could be used writing childrens books...

IPTV is good, I'm glad I made the switch (bye bye cable TV service, hello slow but steady DSL!)
It actually cost less than the competing cable TV service it replaced but has all-digital signal that looks much nicer, and is really not that problematic at all. It's all satellite feed, of course, I'd probably be better off just buying a FTA (free to air) satellite receiver & joining the grey market smart card community.
But, whatever. If/when we get truly high speed internet then the cable company can be based anywhere in the world. In that case I'd use WiMax or even the power utility for internet connectivity.

This story makes me wonder if there's any relationship between the tv-tax and people ditching their land-lines for streaming. (I'd go into a lengthy rant about what a ridiculous thing the tv licensing fee is, but I shan't)

brownie points here to the first person to state the obvious....

people who dont use the internet got either high speed downloads or gaming dont need a fixed line so obviously will cancel there landline...

what would you go with 25+ a month inclusive minutes and texts or 25+ a month line rental before services are included
