ok so this article is a mess! it only talks about the 4850x2 in the first two lines and then it goes over to the 4870x2 and then the corei7?? Also i clicked on the link for the 4850x2 and the results on the card are very good, it does not fail to impress anyone! In quad fire the scores for the card are about 40% higher than a single 4850x2. Thats ok though because that is how quadfire and quadsli are suppose to scale! unless you have a cori7 965 ee. That is still impressive for me. Oh and for your title maybe you should change it to "We think the 4850x2 in quadfire isnt as impressive" But the title is really misleading. Really a big dissapointment for who ever wrote this and for the website. GO TO COLLEGE!
Sadly, reliable reviews of asus motherboards are rare as hen's teeth, it's mostly a guaranteed "Oh it's so wonderful" and it's left to the buyer to find out where the annoying shortcomings are.
I don't even think asus buys them off either, it's just fashionable to talk about asus mobo's as if they are your deity's gift to this world. Not even anandtech does a serious effort really.
And if you want proof of my point then read some userfeedback on shopping sites for instance, or on forums, (or buy one) to see asus mobo's aren't as flawless as all reviewers suggest.

(Note that I didn't read the review mentioned here but this a general analysis of observing reviews over several years)
