Well I've been haranguing Iolo about this for years, and it appears they've finally managed it (got an email saying, in effect, thatonly this year have 64-bit PCs become mainstream)! I upgraded str8 away only to find that 2 major parts of the suite, the AV and Firewall are still, you guessed it, 32-bit only and were grayed out in the install box. So a bit premature to claim 64-bit goodness don't you think? Not impressed :-(
I have tried System Mechanic twice on two different machines and both those times it really messed my machine up. Both systems became unstable and needed Windows XP to be reinstalled.
Well yeah, this is news for System Mechanic fans, but actually maintenance software from other companies, Auslogics for example, supports both 32 and 64bit no problem. So, overall, this is not great news.
It was Summer 2003 & AMD Announced 64 bit CPU, Which was Available in Fall'3. Sch. for Dresden Plant, Dresden has already Come & Gone & Still, Baby Keeps On. Yet, 64 bit parts are FINALLY Coming to Fruitation. Maybe Memory Makers Should Hail AMD or Perhaps NOT, yet its' improved view & better.

5 years is long time to fill in all those gaps, Whats next: 2 bill.ion trany unit? Oh, My Gosh...its' already here, So 64 Bit, Finally, Welcome.

I have the latest version of System Mechanic Pro. I freezes when I use it to defrag hard drives.
Neither SysMech nor Vista can find errors in the drive.

Vista Lite has been out for a long time now and it does all that stuff.
