If the studios are so hell bent on blaming piracy for their losses, why don't we see movies for 2.90 here in the states? If they can make a profit from a 2.90 DVD in China, then the same profit should be available here.

Trying to combat piracy by lowering prices on a piece of crap is not going to work well, and Shrek III is nothing but crap.
Transformers is going to appeal to a niche market, so that's a bit different, but frankly put, I wouldn't pay to see Shrek III, you'd have to pay me.

china isnt the only place there is piracy, in australia we have to pay 39 odd dollars for a dvd, thats why there is Piracy, people say stuff this and go download it for nothing, time to stop being greedy movie and music studios and start being reasonable, thats all they want you know, REASONABLE PRICES

They should have taken a look at what Radiohead did.Half the people that took the goods didn't pay anything at all.
This splits the world into 2 types of people.
Those that pay and those that don't.

Those that pay, don't mind doing so , and dropping prices,whilst pleasing for them, wont stop them continuing to pay.
However , those that thieve, still wont pay , no matter how cheep you make things.They are thieves and they will still go on thieving ,even it the product was free.For them its not about the price , its just about price.You wont ever get money out of them , and they wont change their practices.they are a lost generation.

I highly doubt prices will change anywhere else. I'd even be surprised to hear this story outside of the INQ.

$2.90? How do they justify DVD prices in the USA, where it's $20 a pop? Perhaps to cover shipping costs from China to the USA?
