They are the sole provider of SSD to Apple

Apple has an exclusive contract with Samsung to produce all iPod SSD. This allows Apple to get below market prices for SSD and means Samsung has a steady revenue. You can bet your panties that Samsung sells their SSD at a loss to Apple, in return it gives them money to build factories and advance above any other company in the SSD realm.
