Not to be an ass, but when you get right down it, most ¨discoveries¨ are just new takes on old stuff. Take a little bit of knowledge, add some experimentation, and vóila, a new discovery.

It is becoming abundantly clear to me that the thing holding the US, and other countries to a certain extent, back, is patent law. I think we should swing the door shut on all patent applications that haven´t been turned in, and pass a law that when the ones we have now run out there will NO EXTENSIONS, WHATSOEVER. Maybe, then, we can go back to being the technological powerhouse we were.
