The OLPC Way???

What a shame to befall on this project with key people leaving coinciding with the pressure to provide windows on XO.

Whatever be the justification, Mr. Negreponte, it is shame that you have to resort to words like open-sauce and differentiate between Opensource Fundamentalism and Advocacy
to get across your point.

It is outright surrender in the face of obstacles.

Hats off to those guys who have the guts to stand up and fight.

OLPC

You know, you can make a locomotive engine and call it charity. It can carry all sorts of couches called "donate", "equal rights" & "save the poor"...

A very noble thing.

Now the question is who's track's is it going to run on?

Who will tell the train where to go?

Who pays for when it breaks down?

Wanting to build a thermonuclear warhead for $50 is dangerous.

If it can be done, everyone will have them...but just before that, the one's with the nukes will make you disappear.

There is too much business in having laptops that are NOT OLPC.

No doubt there will be a few more monkey wrenches thrown in the entire program.

Do you think the move was justified?
