I believe AMD have made a big mistake in taken so long in releasing the 790FX chipsets. If you look at Intel they released there next gen chipsets at least a couple of months before there new processors. With AMD waiting so long to release there chipset they have lost customers who where wanting to upgrade there systems ready for the next gen of processors to Intel!

Paper launches are dirty words in this industry now ... so they need enough silicon to ship prior to the day or cop flack accordingly.

I don't doubt the Inq's dates ... it is surprising how many of the "Reputable" hardware sites get their information from here.

The latest Catalyst driver upgrade will please current users.

Onya Inq team !!

Your dates for the RV670 are switched. AMD moved AHEAD the release date for that card. I'm sure that was just so they could move it back again though...
AMD is going to do a simultaneous launch of the 2950 series, 790FX series, 780 series, and Phenom. There is *no* reason to push the launch of the chipsets back by a day, especially not the presumed "so as not to steal thunder from the 2950 launch". A day buys them nothing. Your information is incorrect.

Looks like HD 2950 is on the 15-th of November (instead of 19-th)
