It's not Ubuntu that's the problem, it's the pile of gash that ATI release as drivers causing your problem stuart. next time buy nvidia.

Or will it just be Ubuntu releases which happen to be the websites pet favourite atm?

How about they make Ubuntu work with hardware like widescreen LCD monitors or some common Radeon graphic cards like the 7000 series?

It still insists on plonking me into 800x600 at the highest mode!

But I suspect this is not a sexy enough feature to list?
