Wireless Electricity

This is interesting, I always love hearing about Tesla!

My buddy actually works for a company called PowerBeam, and they actually transfer electricity via optical energy.

Just like Tesla, they too can transfer energy over long-range distances... but its not quite the 'Tesla Effect.'

He mainly used radiowaves whereas PowerBeam use laser beams,a different frequency of energy.

I'm not sure how different Tesla's methods are withPowerBeam's cuz I haven't read books on Tesla, just internet info, but if you want more details on the PowerBeam you can visit their website at www.powerbeaminc.com

bring it on!!

We live in a world where abuse is the norm, where people lie and cheat and kill just to achieve prestige and wealth. And use that wealth to lie and steal some more.

I for one cant wait for our future metallic overlords to force us all into equality 1% will cry 99% will yell out for joy!!

Mostly harmless

I'm sure pumping power at the kilowatt level through the air by magnetic induction is totally safe. http://notnews.today.com/?p=34

Tesla was doing wireless energy transmission about 70 years ago.

Turn I,Robot into octoagragator....

Robots used to have children for drivers & sometimes exploded in 1940s',(terrorism ruled).
Although wireless way more than 10 watts of power, it isn't digitalized power, OLD.

So what's new...

The path is inevitable. The question is can genetic engineering augment our species in competition with advances in robotics. Ultimately a future Borg seems to draw near, which may be a survival imperative if we continue our current path on energy consumption.

Wireless Electricity eh?

Someone hasn't watched The Prestige.

As with much else in technology, Tesla has been there, done that, bought the velvet waistcoat with his last few pennies and been hounded into penury by a lying, glory stealing, control freak competitor.

INQ Poll

Authorities in several countries raided Megaupload recently, shut down all of its services, seized hundreds of servers and arrested several of its executives on criminal charges.

Do you think the move was justified?
