Cutting off the internet on 3 offense compared to the measures other countries in EU are trying to take such as huge fines or incarceration, i think i choose cutting off the internet, and still is on the 3rd strike, so well, it could be way worse. I mean, in the US it can be quite bananas, so currently living in France, I think it can be still half ok, and I'm guessing that downloading all the junk that is not French or available in France quite likel won´t be taken into account.

Yes, I know where Europa is. I don't think that it has to do with geography at all. Nowadays, every country in Europa wants to be a member of the EU. Maybe it is not only the RIAA, MPAA, and the US Congress who is running the EU but also Micro$oft. Just look what happens with OOXML and ISO...... Want more proof than that???????

About the 'selling out' bit, I think french people listen a lot to french music released on french labels and they have their own 'RIAF' or whatever it's called.
Of course I'm not sure who owns those french labels in the end, companies own companies own companies, so it MIGHT be sony after all.

French people have a Tax on CD and DVD blank media, this tax was justify to pay for the cost of priracy, it is given to the autors. Now that Sarko make it illegale, he got to drop this tax ...
