Seriously

We live in the dark ages. Some countries, like Germany take the opinion that If someone hacks my computer system, its my fault. That system works pretty well. In the states they make it very easy to commit a crime even if you did nothing wrong. The U.S. legal system is a total travesty of human rights with 2% of the population in prison, half of which are for victimless crimes. The prisons are Aids, Hepatitis infested rat holes. Sending anyone there is a death sentence.

No crime in the US

Even if you ignore that hacking these machines in the US was a walk in the park thanks to lacklustre security precautions, the fact remains that this guy committed no crime on US soil. The UK therefore has no business sending him to the US.

Any crime he committed was committed here in the UK and that's where his trial and any prison time should be spent.

Authorities in several countries raided Megaupload recently, shut down all of its services, seized hundreds of servers and arrested several of its executives on criminal charges.

Do you think the move was justified?
