you if apple did go into the gaming industry they would probably find a way to be on top just they did with music. i remember talking about a game console about 3 years ago which is now the most wanted and top selling game system in the world (Wii). if apple takes a page out of sony, ms, and nintendo books they may actually get on the right track to make another gaming console. just because sega, turbo graphix, and atari quit doesnt mean that apple will if they try again (sorry telling my age). it's truly all about bringing a faster, more colorful, and sleak machine. it can be successful
Progression is what it is, first the IPOD success, IMAC success and IPHONE success now the through progression one can only assume they will come out with a game system. Probably something wii-ish only with apple osx and something 3d that we have never seen. All the steps are being taken its only when and how cool. The pip-pen was a mistake and they won't make the same mistake too, expect a new concept that will wow us and other will sadly try to copy...But a game system is coming....
Thats a terrible idea. But it could also be a brilliant one. Steve knows that most Appleheads will play with his droppings if thats what was in a box with the Apple logo on it, and I think he's going to bank on that.

Apple iPone? Crappy Edge? NO problem dude just find a hotspot for the wi-fi!

Mac Air? No CD-Rom? No worries I carry arround extra external hardware.

Thats quite a load, and the fans are eager to swallow.
I can imagine the sort of titles availible on release;

Photoshop EXTREME!!!
Make your own song! (user created songs not permited)
Coffee shop blogging tycoon
Etc..
Why don't they just buy into the phantom console. I am sure all they need is a little cash injection and they'll be churning them out quick smart! Slap on an Apple logo and appleianados will run skip and jump to the store to pay top dollar for 'em.
" electronic games other than those adapted for use with television receivers only "

So this is a TV with an iGame (name pending) duct taped to the side of it? Who doesn't already have a TV to hook a console up to?
There will be an Apple console and an Apple Handheld. They will both be bundled with Apple chess, but it will be the only game available. They will cost more than the Playstation 3 and the Nintendo DS Lite respectively because well.....they are from Apple.

Smiles :)
If Apple did a joint venture with Nintendo for a handheld console, I'd join the horde of fanboyz that already infest the Apple stores.

Playing Elite Beat Agents on my Nin-Iphone, woah! Getting that would be a no brainer.
I can see it already, I nice looking piece of machinery with all the promise in the world that is only allowed to play Apple games, use Apple peripherals and addons and be technologically inferior to its competitiors by a couple of years but fanboys will buy it anyway.

**cough** ..apple pippin... **cough**
The Wii is so Apple-like one has to wonder if they might try and buy Nintendo.
Hope it plays more games then a MAC does.
There isn't even much for games on the Mac OS how do they plan on having a gaming device? Will it just be web based games? No thanks steve-o.
