On a recent trip to the US I noticed that any given LCD/plasma TV was approx. half the price it is in Australia, after factoring in currency conversion. 
Australia is also a lot closer to the countries making these screens than the US (which should mean lower shipping costs) so someone, somewhere is ripping us off too......!
Yep. Well, not that hard, but in general it should be:

US: $2500
EU: €2500 (net~EUR2100 which is about $2800-$2900)
GB: net $2800-$3000.

it's like with the PS3: GB+EU: ~400EUR which is about $470 net and a net price of $400 in US. That this the standard "LET'S RIP THOSE EUROPEANS OFF"-tax.

Thats probably $1700 in japan, and £2500 in england. Going by previous "conversion rates"
