I have lice messenger :)
that is WAY WAY better than any other in my opinion!
i simply think that live is better than microsoft!
and i would buy it as soon as it is avaiable..
And allowing you to pay for the rest of your working life and beyond. Isn't that nice ?
But I already have a license for Office 2000, which does more than what I need thank you very much.
And if and when Office is finally discarded for ODF formats, well there's already the free Open Office that's good enough for me.
Pay for an office suite ? No more.
I wish you guys luck, though.
Sumanth from the Live Documents team here...
Just wanted to clarify that Live Documents does indeed support ODF and we will be support Office 2007 OpenXML formats as well shortly - in fact, users do not have to worry about document formats at all as we make the format choice agnostic.
Also, we have no dependence on Microsoft Office - we provide a plug-in that Windows users can install to convert their existing version of Microsoft Office, whatever it migth be, from stand-alone applications to smart clients with collaborative capabilites. We are also developing a similar plug-in for Open Office users.
Finally, our adherence to Office 2007 is simply to benchmark features against this behemoth and provide some UI congruence - apart from this, we have no dependence or linkage.
Hope that helps...
Cheers,
Sumanth

Gmail already has Documents, Spreadsheets, and Presentations. How innovative of you to finally advance your horrendous e-mail services.
