I think this is an old post, just wanted tell you thanks. Just installed AVG on Ubuntu Feisty Fawn 7.04, had problems with update and even scan - many files unavailable, no access, etc.
After opening the avggui through gksu AVG simply works, silently. No more comments, it is just great!
