Also like Crysis I imagine the DX10 effects will be nothing more than DX9 capable visuals restricted to DX10, with the actual DX10 improvement being minute.
Many people seem down on Crysis and their inability to play it at Ultra-High detail with a state-of-the-art system. As TomsH pointed out, really the only thing holding it back is the physics detail which has nothing much to do with graphics and everything to do with the CPU. So drop the physics to medium, and crank everything else you'll find it plays just fine.

Also try http://www.fileplanet.com/184611/180000/fileinfo/Crysis---Natural-Mod-2.0.2 to get it looking better at virtually no loss of fps.
"From the look of the hi-res screenshots, the uprated graphics look like they might just be a match for Crysis"

Errrrrrrrrr NO!

S.T.A.L.K.E.R is a brilliant game and I can't wait for the sequel. But even with the graphics update its nowhere near as good looking as Crysis???

Are you blind?
